Propahgondi, leftover crack, black flag, dead kennedys, and the distillers, thas just some, but i cant help but notice that most of you people well not most but alot of you dont know what punk is... i mean did you seriusly jsut say that your favorite punk band is avril lavigne are you kidding me lets just throw brittny spears and madonna in there while we are at it. im not putting down your tast in bands just that they most some if not most that i read really dont fall under the punk rock classifications id like to see avril playing in a warehouse or some kids back yard just because it was a chance to play her music

WTF that FAR from punk The punk you people DID list was gosh darn greenday whic USE to be punk they sold out and the person that posted Black Flag THANK YOU, You want REAL punk listen to Minor Threat, A global threat, The Casualties, Cheap Sex, Leftover Crack, Choking Victim
Thank you to the people posting Dead kennedys, UK subs,circle jerks ect hell i grew up AFTER punk was everywhere and i know more real punk then half of you guys. Every gosh darn punk forum i see theres freaking emo kids saying MCR is punk, i just wanna slap them.

I agree with you man. Just one thing. Minor threat is a hardcore band (ish), so it's listened to more by hardcore kids and skins than punks.

Music is love, and love should be free.

The Clash is the s***. Hands down, one of the most eclectic punk bands ever. Bad Brains is awesome because you have to be a hell of a showman to get thrown out of a city (ie. banned in DC). Gallows is teetering on the edge of punk which is a wicked new direction for a genre that some argue is falling apart.

punk has fallen apart. some people just dont like to believe it... all thats really left of "punks" is kids with signs that dont like their parents and use being "punk" as a reason to drink and do drugs and "live" on the streets for a few hours a day in abnoctious clothes that say give me attention im defying attority, but how many of them are willing to go out and over turn a cop car and smash in the windows of town hall. most of them go out b**** and act like jerks and thn go home. Im not saying there arnt still real punks out there obviously there are but i mean the true essence of what being punk really means atleast what it means to me... its really all but dead its basicly a vegitable on life support. i wish we could bring it back but for that wed need a revolution and you could kill of the number of people devoted to that riot with a bb gun
