I'm watching Live from studio 5 and they've just had a piece on guys using pet names at work towards women (babe, honey, sweetheart, love etc) and how some women find it offensive or patronising. Do you or would you?

This is for work situation not from friends or partners.

I usually don't find it offensive, but it depends on the tone and stuff. I mean if it's said in a pervert kind of way then I would be pissed.

When I used to work at the florist I used to get called 'dear' or 'darling' a lot, which really annoyed me. To be fair though it was mainly the pensioners who were calling me that so it must be a generational thing.

No room in the work place for that. We're come a long way based on our intelligence and talent, and no guy has the right to address us in a disrespectful manner.

Unless you are really good friends at work and you probably have a nickname for the guy too then i dont see a problem, but if its some random guy calling you "honey" "babe" and names like that, i would find it pretty wierd. I get called Pickle at work by a lot people I work with, it doesn't bother me though cause it isn't offensive lol
