 since there wouldn't be any smoke to burn my eyes I had a fleeting image of forgetting about it and trying to drink something then the word electronic flashed past ,,, liquid , electricity ,, what a shock !!!!!! I know that's ridiculous but funny as hell if there's alcohol involved ,,,IMO
 I would so hand them out to drunk people just for my own amusement!

My mother has these electric cigarettes. They are a pale substitute for the real thing if part of the pleasure of smoking is the risk taking.
Otherwise, they are exactly as advertised. The end even lights up when you take a drag so they almost look like the real thing. They are battery operated and so they don't work as well when the battery starts to lose power.

by risk taking , do you mean the risk of getting caught smoking in a non smoking area or the health risks ? From most of what I found about these it seems to 6 of one and a 1/2 dozen of the other about weather they are any healthier of not than real tobacco products. 
I meant the health risks. I hadn't even thought about people getting their kicks by smoking where they aren't supposed to.  I'm picturing the girls bathroom in highschool.
If you consider the fact that nicotine is a toxic and addictive substance, then no, they are not as healthy as eating broccoli. They don't contain the particulate matter and other harmful chemicals that real tobacco smoke contains.

It says it's been around since 2002 but I haven't heard of it until now. It could be a cool alternative but like many other new inventions,we don't know the downside of it. | | | |
