I've got Kaspersky Security Suite on mine and it's worth the money in my opinion.

Norton sucks. Sorry to break it to you.

If you're going to pay, Kaspersky or NOD32 are the way to go.

Friends don't let friends buy Norton.

Norton has not failed me yet (and I've had them for 3 years now), so until then me and Norton are friends.

I know this thread hasn't been going for a while but I was wondering if anyone can help me understand why my AVG is not getting updated anymore. I do get the AVG Download box as soon as I start up the computer but it gets stuck and doesn't download anything... is it because of my firewall? Help, please

You probably have the old version.

Uninstall what you have and go download the latest Free version.

I used to use AVG, but these days I use Kaspersky Internet Suite, which is not free but which is very very good and does almost everything security wise.
No matter which AV you use, you should use one of the online scanners at least once a month to ensure that your AV hasn't been compromised.
I use the one below, as it's very reliable.

AVG Free.

Done.

I deleted McAfee and I tried to download AVG but it wouldn't install. Something about it not having permission to change some Windows files, kind of a headache. So I downloaded PCTools anti-virus instead. It was easy to install and has a full scan and firewall. It's free, but I don't know if it's any good, I just know that my system runs better than it did with McAfee. I'll find out I guess.

Does Spybot take care of Malware, cause there was a Trojan Horse virus on my comp ealier and I cant find it now... not after I did some spybot scans

Malwarebytes is a very good anti-malware scan.
