This is the first message I have ever posted on a forum, but really hoping someone out there can help. I started roaccutane three weeks ago and not due to see the doc for a couple of weeks, but apart from the usual dry skin, lips, nosebleeds - these are minor compared to the immense pain I have in my joints. Any suggestions

contact your dermatologist or physician immediately for thier advice, phone them.

not necesarrily, it could be un-related however you may need to stop the meds asap. Best to always get professional advice.

ive never gotten that side effect,but it does sound bad,thats if it is drug related,but as mentioned,you should get it looked at

pain is temporary,pride is forever!

Both of my sons took accutane while they were teenagers. It really worked for them. Both still have beautiful complexions after several years. My oldest son experienced nose bleed will on the med the other one had no side effects at all.

i see,i myself suffered little nosebleeds,i have had dry lips from the day i started accutane,plenty of vaseline has helped,i also have dry skin,i use E45 cream to solve that matter.i find the results of accutane very good(without side effects) and the odd occasional brakeout kinda put me off the drug for a while,but im very happy with the results so far.

pain is temporary,pride is forever!

Be aware--Accutane is related to Vitamin A and the two should not be take together due to side effect potential. If you take a multivitamin and want to stay on one during Accutane treatment, you should take a vitamin A-free multivitamin.

I'm on Accutane and my doctor told me to stop my multivitamin because Accutane and vitamin A can both cause the same side effects. He said I can take a multivitamin that doesn't contain vitamin A. Does anybody know of one?

I took Accutane without any problems except some nuisance lip chapping that went away completely a few days after my 5 months of treatment. My dermatologist closely supervised my treatment and cautioned me extensively about being sure to avoid pregancy and to avoid taking any multivitamins that contain vitamin A. I had some blood tests done about once a month and took a multivitamin with no vitamin A ("ebA Multivitamin" since I wanted to contiue a multivitamin. It was smooth sailing all the way. There are a lot of lawyers looking to profit from the overblown hype about Accutane. Follow your dermatologist's advice and follow-up monthly. If there are any problems, your dermatologist can help you with them, and you likely will have a clear face!

Accutane contain lots of irritating side effects. It leaves your skin dry, chapped lips, minor nose bleeds, and dry eyes. But i learnt from my patients..at the end of the day..you go back home with beautiful clear perfect skin. So i think these pretty annoying stuffs and side effects can be compromised at the cost of accutane.

accutane and roaccutane can make you photosensitive, they basically speed up the skin renewal process so sunblock is a must even on a mild day, also dont dry your skin out get a good miosturiser and NEVER exfoliate until youve been off the drug for at least 3 months.

Without stress my life would be empty...
