When applying for am job on the net many companies require a full Social Security Number. Is it safe to give out this information on the world wide web.

Best advice,never give any personal details on the computer,that's like telling a voice on the phone your banking details...............Madness

But why would major companies request your full SS number on the net. Internet application filing has now even repalce campus interviews. It's cheaper for the company and they get the student applying from all over the country.
