Get a blacklight and some UV paint for your bodies.
Have tons of bottled water too and have a great time.
Why would strobe lights be a bad idea. And I agree, forget the food. Its not going to be that kinda of party. There is going to be a couple kegs. Is there something wrong with strobe lights and glowsticks?

glowsticks are fine, strobes may give people a fit and if you are dropping it can send the brain to a funny place

30/M/Villa de Cona, Mongolia Join Date: Nov 2009 | There are numerous different ways a party/rave can be organised but the crucial factor of it is,where is it going to be held?.Having being involved in the organisation/promotion of many long standing and "one off" legal and illegal/free events/raves for many years now I can safely say go the legal way ie hire a club ect...
.Not only for public safety and insurance purposes but it is highly likely you will not have to hire the sound and lighting equipment, also if you make sure that you invite thirsty guests you will usually have the bar to barter with ie reduced club hire prices(if any).
When it comes to Djs look and ask around in your area for up and coming Djs but be sure to always check which format they will be wanting to play (CDs,vinyl,Serrato ect) and also note down the styles they play depending on how many DJs you will need.If you fail to find any DJs clubs usually have 2-3 resident DJs you could possibly hire.As stated above that most DJs will have the neccessary sound equipment to put on a party is pretty much untrue, most people will not have 3k rigs laying around in their garage.
Also one of the key factors is knowing roughly how many people will turn up to your party, getting an estimation will give you a guide to the size of the club or the amount of space that will be needed. There is no point in hiring a big space when it will be wasted, empty space is also a big vibe killer but this also works vice versa the place not being big enough.Another plus point in using a club whether people like it or not is bouncers(doormen, security, fist aiders),you dont want to be spent running around all night keeping an eye on everything and everyone.
Flyers are always a good idea but for a private party a guest list is even better, when getting the invites/tickets printed up watermark each invite with an ink rubber stamp, and you can also use this method at the club if people need to go outside.
Try to get a group of friends together to help you with it,also there are many more options on where events can be held..not just nightclubs.I used to co-run a rave fortnightly which used to be held in a gym!! the gym would close at 10:00 pm the cleaners and ourselves would the clean the place and remove the gym equipment then we would be ready to open at 1:00 am through till 8:00am +,the 2 separate squash courts made another 2 rooms of music..its all about using your imagination. Good luck on any future parties!!
