Apart from murdering innocent plants.
Will no one think of the plants?
IF plants ARE sentient then a Vegan lifestyle is less cruel and also if plants aren't sentient then a vegan lifestyle is also less cruel, less plants are consumed through vegan/plant based diets because magnitudes more plants are spent in feeding the animals yet to be slaughtered and in answer to why we dont forget animals and instead think about humans ...
1. above mentioned larger quantities of plants are wasted as they could used to address world hunger
2. it takes a fraction of the amount of water to produce the same yield of food with a plant based diet
3. the gains for human health are well documented, todays vegans are getting the vitamins and nutrients they need and its very easy to add what you require to your diet but omnivores cannot strip away the cholesterol and higher carcinogen content of their animal product laden diets (THUS.. cancer and stroke/heart disease, the biggest killers of humans in the developed world are vastly reduced)
4. consider the respect and rights that would be afforded to humans and lack of prejudice when we recognise the worth and moral significance of beings we previously considered only as products ..
I see nothing but benefits for humans and to top it off, the other vegans im friends with are not misanthropic at all.. they purchase fair trade products, contribute to charity and are all round, friendly, loving balanced people.
