I'm 26 weeks pregnant, me and my partner applied for a council house nearly 3 months ago now.
They started me off with 90 points, i get 5 points for every month i'm waiting and they said when i get 100 points then i will be high priority in getting a house.
About a week ago i went into the council housing place and asked how many points i had just to make sure, the woman there said i had 100 but it's highly doubtful we'd be placed in a house until way after the baby is born as they are too busy re-placing people who are living in flats with 2+ children, even though i'm getting kicked out of my house in a month!
She also said we're more likely to be placed quicker if we change our application to say we'd accept a flat. Most of the flats are in the rough parts of sc***horpe so if we we're to choose a flat it would be our last option.
I then looked into renting a house but my partner doesn't want to as he says "The house is technically not ours, they can give us a month notice on moving out so we'd have to try and find somewhere else to go"
I'm stressing out about having to find a place to live, which is really not good for the baby.
Any advice please?
