Yrs, and lovers, and very few scruples. This is only historical information from a book, not cut and paste.
The first pope to have a child- at least the first that we know of- was Saint Hormisdas in the sixth century, once a happily married man, heard God's call late in life. His son Silverius, become pope in 536, thirteen years after his father's reign ended.

You may be interested in the lewd, salacious adventures of the naughty popes, and there are plenty of those. The worst popes, in terms of morals, ethics, and criminal behavior, held power during the fifteen and sixteen century. Pius II, pope from 1458-1464, wrote love poems and fathered at least two illegitimate children while traveling on diplomatic missions for the church.

You can find he rest of this information in :"How Do Men Think?"

Just information under history, not a debate.

Indeedly, and why not. Having children is NOT sinful whatsoever.

The chastity thing with priests is 100% to stop offspring possibly making inheritance claims on church property, and nothing whatsoever to do with the Bible.

Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner.
Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.

LOL really? now that MUST be a sin.

I always wondered why priests couldn't get married or have sex.

Wow exspecting someone never to have sex or get married for property issues. That is rediculous.

Well, I have to admit, I'm not an authority, It's just something I've read - but have read it a number of times and the church has occasionally considered ending this ban. One reason an authority within the church said for not doing though was the feelings of old priests who have done without sex all their lives, then suddenly it was all for nothing.
Can see their point there - but all the same, it's not fair really is it.

Pope Alexander VI, father of three sons and a daughter, Giovanni, Cesare, Goffredo and Lucrezia, must surely have had the most infamous papal children.

My favourite thing about Pope Pius II? He was the one who convinced Vlad Dracula to start his war!

I do believe that it is only the Catholic Church and not the Church of England that is against marriage/kids.
