Hi

I am from UK and am interested in going to Las Vegas for 6 months next year. Does anyone know how easy or not this is.

You'll need a visa. And depending what type you come over on, you may need a sponsor.
You can go for 3 months without a visa however.

Well I have a friend who lives in Vegas and said i can stay with her. she also reckons she would be able to get me a job out there too. is it quite hard to get a visa though?

You may not be able to work.
If you come over on a tourist visa, which she can sponsor you for, you will not be allowed a job.
I know with the work visa you need to find a job before you come over.
You may want to contact a lawyer though. As this is just general info I"ve gleaned from my research.
Getting a visa isn't hard, it's just alot of paperwork.

Oh I didnt realise I cannot work on a tourist visa. that must be difficult to get a job then apply for work visa?

yeah getting a green card is extremely difficult, USA is way more strict than the EU about who can work.

oh and as a side note, if you decided to work illegaly they can throw you out any time and you will not be allowed back, not even for holidays.

i wouldnt work illegally anyway. going to research this properly. i will be gutted if i cant go out there.. i literally only wanna do bar work or croupier.. just for the experience. not planning to move out there.

Yeah getting a work visa is difficult. And you cannot even LOOK while you're out here as that can get you thrown out also.

so how can they say they will not give work visa unless you have a job?

i have been out there already and my brother is about to marry a girl from vegas as well.

i love it out there, also my friend is from uk and she has gone over to vegas to be a model.

You have to find a job from the UK..then you can apply for the work visa from everything I've read.
Unless there's some loophole I have not been able to find.
