If you have any specialist shops in your area for baking/cake making advertise there. Many aspiring cakemaker's go there so it's an obvious choice!

You could try the local council too to see if they might run a small feature in their newspaper they send out. Being as you are trying to raise money for charity they might be more interested, Usually anything that gives them a good profile can get an inclusion, and they get sent out to every property.

someone bought this christmas cake recipe into the class last week ,i found it so funny ,hope you do.ingredients,1 cup of water, 8 oz of dried fruit, 1 tsp salt, lemon juice, 1 tsp of baking powder, 8 oz sugar, 1 bottle of whisky 4 eggs 1 lbs dried fruit 8 oz butter 8 oz flour please read on now the method sample the whisky to check for quality, take a large bowl, check whisky again,to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour 1 level cup and drink repeat, turn on electric mixer, beat 2 oz of butter in a large fluffy bowl add one tsp of suger and beat again, make sure whiskey is still ok cry another tup. turn on the mixer, break two bowls and add the eggs and chuck in the fruit, mix on the turner,if the fruit gets stuck in the bloody beaters, pry it loose with a screw driver, sample the whisky again for consisticity, next sift two sups of calt or something, who cares? check the whisky, now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts, add one table or spoon of sugar or somethinmg, whatever you can find, grease the oven turn the cake tin to 350 degrees, dont forget to beat off the turnerer, throw the bowl out of the window, check the whisky again and go to bed, next day ,take three asprins go to marks and spensor and buy a frigging christmas cake.

this is a very expencive hobby ,as for the sugarcraft side you do have to buy lots of tools for making different flowers if using cutters ,but you can make some of them by hand too. once you have aquired them though they last for years ,some of the equiptment i have had now for 15 years, and the cake tins.this week the students have made their first christmas cake in fruit and added brandy to preserve it,also they have marzipaned it and iced it.they have made a pointsettia in flower paste and put it on the finished cake, they were taking pictures on their phones as they were proud of what they had acheived
