Which is better?

I'm currently near San Luis Obispo, I find the breeze in SLO too cold for my taste, even in the peak of summer, is San Diego warmer? Also, finding a job around this area is near impossible with each job posting eliciting literally hundreds of responses each. Is it better in San Diego? One thing I LOVE about this area though is how clean the air is. The sky is bright clean blue right down to the horizon. Does the San Diego area have clean air or smog? Thanks!

Well I've been to San Diego a few times. I went there in January and the weather was ridiculously awesome. It seems to be like that all the time. Two weeks of 70, sunny, and lightly breezy. The air was generally lovely and clean. LA was obviously significantly worse in that regard.

When I was there, I remember the northern areas being nicer and less urban. Encinitas, Oceanside, and Dana Point were downright lovely.

But I only vacationed there for 2 weeks a couple of years. Certainly not an expert.

I love the area we're in, but the population is very small around here, and it makes running our business difficult, if not impossible. San Diego is definitely bigger, so I don't have any concerns about the business being successful there, but I do love the openness and clean air here. Is it possible to be in a city as big San Diego and not have pollution? The American Lung Association gave San Diego county an F for air quality, mostly in the smog department, whereas San Luis Obispo is in the top 25 cleanest cities, and you can really see it, the sky is chrystal clear, I love it. *sigh* I hate moving though. It's such a hassle.

Downtown San Diego wasn't a great place. But the area is pretty sprawling. I don't know, though, I remember the air in the northern areas between urban SD and southern LA being really pleasant. Good luck with the search though.
