Anybody at an impressionable age can be affected by what they see as fashionable. Peer pressure is a problem as well. Emma worries because she thinks she's not big enough, all her friends being taller and better endowed around the boobs. Luckily she's commonsensical enough to know she'll grow in her own good time. She definitely dislikes that painfully thin look. I think it is irresponsible of the fashion industry to promote stick-thin women. Did your son get through his phase alright?

21/F/Tampa, Florida Join Date: Aug 2008 | You know...while there are models out there are size 0 to 2. They don't market 0 to 2 size clothing. In fact designers often make 0-2 size clothing for their models but start to sell to stores at 4 and up.
I hate the fact that I can't find 0 to 2 size clothing. I hate the fact that I can rarely find them. I hate the fact that everything starts with a size 4 which are already rare to find and go on to size 6 and up. I hate the fact that if i do find a size 2 that fits, I have to buy it up right there and then and pay $80 for a pair of pants because if i wait till they go on sale, they will be gone. I hate the fact that their are a million size 8 and onwards that are made and there are always enough left when they're on sale.
And no I'm not talking about s***ty teenage stores, hot topic, pacsun and whatnot that sell 0-2, I'm talking about Macy's and target stores targeted at working women.
even the freaking petite section you will find size 16, wtf? its the effing petite section. There should be more size 0, more size 2, more size 4, more size 6's.
So many stores these days are geared towards and average of size 8 and upwards. Yeah well, thats a f***ing average. Theres always enough for them as well as those above, but clothing for those that are below, its getting harder and harder to find.
I hate the fact that designers start making clothing at a standard 4 or 6 and up.
Times have changed...clothing companies, designers have changed. Go to the store and its reflected. And I'm perfectly healthy and I weight what I should weigh for body size but I do feel like I can't find clothing my size anymore.
Yes six 0,2,4,6 are skinny, but it is a normal and healthy weight for some people. But now because its "taboo" people are actually embarrassed to say they are a 4 because everyone thinks they have to anorexic to be that size.
These sizes aren't "too" skinny, for some they are normal depending on their body mass index.
rant over...I just hate the fact that its getting harder and harder to find my size clothing.

And I'm not fat or anything! I'm average!
