Just before the world receives Windows 7, there are already rumblings of a generation-after-next version of Windows that will come in a 128-bit flavor.

Well, no surprise there, but they are only working on the Itanium Architecture, which is used on workstations and not normal laptops/desktop computers

What would a 128 bit OS do? The Vista I have is 64 bit but I see no difference in what it does compared to a 32 bit OS.

It is just further instruction sets, so that Windows uses up the full range of a 128-bit cpu capabilities
