I was chatting with a guy on MSN who seemed really nice. We chatted for a while before moving to MSN. Anyway, it was probably at least an hour of chatting. He was listed as one name and a couple minutes went by. I didn't think anything of it because he was trying to see what version he was using. All this time, he appeared offline. Someone logged in as "rt" and IM'd me in the same window with "OMG LOL Picturefound.com angela.----- &quote" three times in a row. I typed the guy's name in twice and he didn't answer. Then this rt guy logged out. I couldn't find the original name on my list so I blocked the rt one. I'm dumbfounded.

I don't know how it's done, tracking cookies or something, but it's pretty scary. This morning I read in our newspaper here about a Facebook scam where a woman wired $4,000 to someone in England. A scam.

You can change your display name in MSN without much trouble.

It's actually client-dependent. Sounds like he has a virus/trojan that's logging itself into MSN on his computer and sending out links.

Yes. You sign in with your email address but that's not what the other person sees when chatting with you. For example, I could sign in under jimbojones4227@hotmail.com but my "Display Name" can be "Jon." It's just a setting in Messenger. I can go change it to "Jonboy" or "~~~\\Whoa It's Jon!//~~~" or whatever.

u know a few years ago i was on msn and i was talking to someone and someone sent me a message saying that i could check to see who has deleted me and ignored me and so i clicked on it and it asked me to type in my email address so i did and it let me view it but after that i was getting talking to people after that and my friends kept telling me that i was online when i really wasnt and they would try and talk to me but no one would reply back to them and they kept getting messages from them asking them to view porn sites and stuff like that and one day a few weeks ago i logged on and it said i had like 30 people wanting to me to add them to my friends list and they were all pornbots and so i declined them all but now if i logg on there i have tons of email from different pornbots and porn sites and all kinds of s*** and i tried delete it but it says that i cant because its in use still cuz its own and operated by a computer.
