1-0 series lead for oakland!

the a's win the first game of their series against the twins!

frank thomas hit 2 home runs and had 3 rbi's. barry zito pitched 8 strong innings and only gave-up one run!

it was a big win against johan santana on the road!

i'm glad i called in sick for work to watch it! i mean, i called in sick because i was sick. the game just happened to be on.

minnesota hardly put up a challenge for the a's in the ALDS, now we await the winner of the yankee/tiger series to determine who will become champions of the american league!

highlights from fridays series clinching win were:

strong pitching by the a's staff. haren went 6 innings giving up only 2 runs, and the bulpen closed it down from there.

marco scutaro lit the tigers up again with 4 rbi's, while eric chavez and milton bradley gave the a's an early lead by hitting homers in the 2nd and 3rd innings.

we may actually get it done this year......

LET'S GO OAKLAND!
