If you have a partition you can restore it to factory condition. You'll have to reinstall all your 3rd party software but it'll be back to the way it was before you used VR2008.

Pain in the a** I know but sometimes it's just easier to do it that way.

Never ever click any pop up's or adverts that say free malaware or malicious software remover tool. They generally end up putting a lot of crap on your PC.

Try AVG Free

i used to have avg but it crashed my pc so put me off it a bit. it wasnt a pop up, plus i have pop up blocker on. i bought a malware remover, cost a bit but it worked!! never knew there were so many virus and spyware and whatever until recently. i know where it came from though. i was trying to go on a cookery site and some weird video thing downloaded without my consent then pc crashed! sticking to cook books from now on!

I think Kulik was trying to say that it's not fake if it crashed your computer. Personally, I've used Avira AV Personal Edition for the past year or so and haven't gotten a virus or malware yet. It's amazing what you can find for free on the Internet.

If it crashed ur computer it aint always a virus, just malware. A virus is a replicating piece of code that attaches itself to other files. Virii, Trojans, Malware and spyware are all different types of code and perform different fuctions, however the end result is always the same, ur puter crashes. So there is no suchj thing as a fake virus unless its a program that says ur puter is infected when it aint. Sorry just had to clean the air on that one.
