Anyone know anything about it?

I've ran out of ink for my printer (conveniantly just as the semester starts again) and went onto the internet to see how much replacements will cost, and it is a bit more than I want to spend.

I've heard of people doing refills though, anyone know anything about it? Do you need a special type of cartridge or will any suffice? Is it cheaper/better?

Opinions please.

Well it's going to cost me £30 to replace them, which just seems quite a lot, so if it's even a bit cheaper then I'd be happy.

Quality doesn't need to be great.

Hmm, that kind of sucks.

It's frustrating how much ink costs, I'm genuinely thinking it may be cheaper to just use the printers at the uni (6p per page) than replacing the ink and having to buy paper.

Would be a hassle going out of my way, but if it's cheaper it's cheaper.

Inkjet printers are worthless.

Laser is the answer.

yes, I needed three cartridges the other day, and bought a couple extras, and I could of got a laser printer for that price. The ink in the color cartridges evaporates, even if you don't use color printing. Of course, you can print if any of the cartridges are empty. Bah, I'm about ready to take other actions of some type too. Perhaps a laser printer. Hubby keeps wanting me/us to do refills, but I have heard too much about them being messy, or leaking.
imho

I think a laser printer is what i may get the next time i get a new printer.

They always seem to be faster at printing as well.

Not that i can say i have done test on this, just seems that way with the printers i have used in the past. . .

And on a quick look, toner seems to be around the same price im paying now, but can print out a hell of allot more pages, which is a bonus.

You have to use needle, syringe type things to refill through the hole of your ink cartridge. It makes a horrible mess,it wastes alot of ink and I saw an article in a magazine that said that it clogs up the heads of your printer.
I would never do it again-and I ain't got much money either.
Answer question?

Someone once told me to be careful of buying inexpensive printers because the ink cartridges may be unreasonably expensive. The technician told me to check the price of the printer supplies before I made a final decision. I've seen that happen on one of the large HP printers.

Well I wont be doing it myself, would go to the shop down the road and let them do it for me.

I got my printer for free anyway (came free with my laptop...which was also free) so I'm not complaining about having an inkjet.
