C++ and VB.

Between the two of them you can code 90% of what businesses need.

That's actually C#.

My friend has worked in several programming jobs before coming to the one at which we met now and he has had to learn loads of different programming languages but even after all of that he still likes basic which was the first oen he learned.

What is your favorite programming language and why?

FORTRAN. I learned some of this stuff before I left the Navy. Never really used it much afterwards. It will be the only computer language YOU EVER NEED. Good luck, Pal

I think c/c++ and Java are the basic programming languages. To learn any other higher level language one should be perfect in these languages.

I use and like various different programming languages and environments. It depends on what I am developing... web based to simple single computer based. It also depends on what os the program will be used on. I do a lot for Windows based systems and Linux based.

I actually prefer PHP. However, all languages have their positive and negative attributes. It just really depends on the environment I would be programming for.

I prefer C++/C#, but those are the only languages I've really studied in-depth. I've dabbled in Java and Ruby, but never really liked them. And I don't think Ruby is ever actually used for anything but programming personal apps.
