Years ago (1963-1967) I was stationed at the Naval Security Group Activity located at Winter Harbor, ME. I have often thought about moving to Maine from time to time. I'm interested in hearing from anyone living in Maine concerning how they feel about living there. I would appreciate any info you may provide concerning this.

Thank you,
Cryptokid

Don't live in Maine, but I know a little something about NSG! I wore the feather and lightning bolt myself a few years back! How about that! I thought old crypto techs just faded into oblivion after service!

Okinawa, Japan
Hawaii
SECSTA washington DC
Naples Italy
Republic of Panama

and TAD just about everywhere else. Welcome shipmate!!

NAVCOMMSTA, San Miguel
NAVSECGRUCMD, Washington D.C.
NSGA Misawa, Japan
NRC, Louisville, KY

Were you an "A", "O", "R", "T". "M" or "I" brancher? I was an "A" brancher. Hope to hear from you.

I was an "M" brancher. '76- '96. Took the money and ran when the wall came down! I was at Corry station for school after ETA school in Great Lakes. Was TAD to Misawa in '79. It's amazing how easy it is to fall back into talking in combinations of letters!

Always wanted duty at Northwest, but could never get the orders. As for Winter Harbor, I had a buddy (fellow M brancher) who was stationed there in the mid '70s, and he always swore he was going to retire there. I'll see if i can find him and see if he is actually there. If you are going to work, I suppose it could be rough, but if you are fully retired, it's paradise according to him. As for me, I guess I spent too much time in the PAC to appreciate the weather!

You know, none of this crap that's going on in the world now happened on OUR watch! (don't know where that came from, but it pops into my head once in a while!)

Look forward to talking to you some more! I suppose we should personal message the sea stories and such to keep from boring all the civilians to death!

Later mate!

How can we personal message each other since I was just informed that my previous msg to you had to be modified because email addresses are not permitted on this form?
Please advise.

I go to Maine all the time, Bangor to be specific. I am close to the American border. It's a lovely little place and the people are so friendly. I find even with exchange rate, the price for things there is really cheap.

It is so pretty in the fall.

I need to learn when to shut my big boy mouth...
