OK, I'm in Bath looking at the crescent by John wood. Drawing pad out
pencils nice and sharp,Lets Go.
The first port on my whistle stop tour of England.
I'm sick and tired of being treated like a general dogs body, glorified tea boy at work so I'm going to try and go back to education
and become the real deal. Bonified professional architect.
First job is to build up a portfolio of top quality drawings.
I first tried this a month ago in Italy. There I was surrounded by the creme de la creme of past heros buildings and could I get pencil to paper, NO. I was deeply inspired though and will go back....soon.
Well I dont know how good my drawings are but at least I've made a start.
The buildings in Bath are in the sme style as those I saw in Italy.
The inspiration behind them all is PALLADIO who was born 500 yrs ago
Hence my visit to Italy to see his masterpiece Villa Rotonda.
The Bath buildings are 300 yrs later (18th c ) and they named the style PALLADIAN.
I will keep a kinda diary here as I travel round the country drawing the many diferent styles that make up the urban fabric of england.
