The news is that science is working on growing a new class of "dark" diamonds which will make silicon look like horses & buggies next to corvettes!

i'm ready to get rid of silicon, diamond will be much faster, yet so much more expensive.

They have been talking about that for a while... the diamond chips probably will handle much higher temperatures than their silicone counterparts.... That may reduce the cooling requirements.

would it be genuine diamond, or cubic zirconium? Cubic zirconium is purer and much cheaper, I'd think they'd prefer it?

For sure its artificial ... there are some drawbacks... high cost and diamond is not as good a conductor of electricity as silicone is.

I don't know, but isn't the cost of chip gonna rise if they switch to diamond instead of silicon?
