Alright, so if you have read Native Son by Richard Wright and/or are just REALLY good at analyzing literature quotes, I NEED YOU!

Here's the quote:

"Blind anger had come often and he had either gone behind his curtain or wall, or had quarreled and fought. And yet, whether in running away or in fighting, he had felt the need of the clean satisfaction of facing this thing in all of its fullness, of fighting it out in the wind sunlight, in front of those whose hate for him was so unfathomably deep that, after they shunted him off into a corner of the city to rot and die, they could turn to him, as Mary had that night in the car, and say, 'I'd like to know how your people live.'" (239-240)

If you haven't read the book, this is talking about an African American man who accidentally murdered a white woman and burned her body to rid of evidence. This quote takes place after the bones are found in the furnace and he flees. Any ideas as to what it means???

Well I'm not going to do your homework for you.

Try separating it by sentences and interpreting it. Start there or try the link readsalot gave you.

haha, pff i wasn't asking you to do my homework!
just a few ideas, thats all :P
besides, I GOT IT!

he obviously is making the point that the white race will have the nerve to ask him "how his people live", completely ignorant to the fact that they are the reason his people live the way they do, and it enrages him.
