So if a Jew is born in the US, to US-born Jewish parents, the US State recognises them as having two nationalities, Jewishness and American, and entitled to a passport of wherever Jews get passports from (the Jewish Embassy??), and that conversion to Judaism is akin to acquiring a second nationality? I think not... you're confusing culture with nationality.

Israeli is not jewish, it's hebrew. Jew is a slang term for the followers of different rabbis.
