Because some are tired of trying to explain our views to those that just don't seem to get it. And this discussion has been had many times in the past week.

Spinkie, that broadcast continues, tonight. Thus far, it has me wondering, why they show-cased successful women, and some down-on-their-luck men.... This broadcast is confusing; putting a negative turn on a lot of otherwise positive images. They are also drawing on a lot of New York City situations, and generalizing to have it apply to the rest of rural America.
In my hometown, I was a 'poor' kid, and lived a block away from a street full of even more-poor black families. Later, when I was in NYC, I saw what race-relations were like, in the public school system, and, in high-school I was one of the minority-crowd. Our graduation was held at the Apollo Theater, if that tells you anything.
Wait until it's over, and then compare notes.

PEACE!!
Everyone has voiced their concerns. That they care. You just seem to stir the pot as often as you possibly can. Which is the only reason you continue to bring up racism in this forum.

I think that they did show a few black men that are very successful in their choosen careers....the man who is a Harvard graduate and a leading Finacial something or other, and the 1st. black man to ever recieve a tenure at a University...can't seem to recall them all right now, but there were at least 3 or 4....and the main issue in the 1st. show on 7/23 was mostly about the black women, so you are correct...tonight will be about black men...I guess I should have posted that fact but it slipped my mind...lol However, in order to see every side of the black story...you simlpy MUST show the whole story, negative as well as positive...because both are equally vital and important to us...and most times, when the media is all that americans see or know about negative black images, it is sometimes related to the whole black race...which as you very well know, that isn't true....it goes without saying, there is is positive and negative in every race of people!! And may I say, that you are in my opinion, the exception of alot of whites i've come across, that is if you are a white man, I think you are. LOL That is just another reason why I personally respect your insights and opinions, even when they differ from my own!!! I think you are a positive person!!Thanks! | | | Edited: July 24, 2008 @ 19:09

Maybe that is how you yourself see it....that's fine...but do you really think you should be making such statements about me and what my motives are concering this subject? You know, I might be wrong..but isn't this forum titled Racism? You should not pass judgement of me...I never passed my on you, it makes NO sense to!!! And if you don't want to hear or deal with this racism forum...then why do you? How is anything I do or say, effect you? It doesn't...let's just agree to disagree and that will be that...no matter how you feel about me or this issue...won't make any differance to me at this point...i'am done with you!!!

There more we focus on the identity of a single ethnic group, the more it breeds comparison between said ethnic groups. When there is comparison there is a idea that one could be better than another.
The sooner we can move toward absolute equality, the sooner we will see change. Eventualy skin color will have as much relivance as eye color.

my comment is this: there is prejudice and racism in every form of every race. lest we forget the jews, the kurds, etc. the racism in america is everywhere. it is simply unavoidable.

i am understainding it, by reading and studying it! it is picking my brain to understand why people of any race feel the need to insult or demean or belittle because of their color. it is just plain stupid! judge their f***ing character, i say!
