I'm black. My family is black too and we are always generous enough to tip. Many blacks don't make too much money due to the hundreds of years of oppression and lack of opportunity which is why the average white person has more money in their pocket than a lot of blacks do. My family makes well enough money to give a tip. Especially if it's the same waiter/waitress that's coming around to take care of things.

i find it hard to believe that black people tipp less signifigantly.
she could be just unlucky, or she could be prejudiced and be interpreting it wrong, she could be prejudiced and unintentionally be being less polite to black people.
black people on adverage have a lower income than whites so maybe they do tipp less due to having lower disposable incomes.

it strikes me as a massivly ignorant thing to say also, this is because regardless of her personal experience its a ma** generalisation. i could easily say 'why are eastern europeans so rude?'
and base this on the fact that there's been a number of times when an eastern european has pushed passed me in a que. its an experience only in relation to me and of no real value.
by definition its quite an ignorant view because its lacking any real facts to base an opinion on.

especially an opinion so contentious as to accuse an entire race of not being generous.

that's a generalization, although there is some truth in it. i've noticed that even if they are dressed in expensive clothing and appear to have money, most African-Americans don't tip.

But the WORSE ones are DEFINITELY Peruvians. At my old job working in a Peruvian restaraunt I made about 30.00 a day on tips serving upwards of 15 tables a day.

I'm black and I tip. But then again, some blacks do like to save money, and are very cheap. lol So I guess your logic may be true.
