dose anyone know if a asus laptop is better than a dell laptop. what thoughts dose anyone know??

Before you buy a notebook you have to have clear what you do with it.
Do you travel and work with it? Do you stick to Windows as operating system because in your work you have to have applications that ONLY run on Windows? Do you need worldwide fast repair service? Do you fly with your notebook? Do you use it instead only at home as a desktop substitute? And so on and so forth.
As such your question cannot be answered. Both industries have good and bad products. All is depending on your needs.

A hint: ask for guarantee conditions. Dell i.e. has the fact that nearly all the pieces cost about 100 dollar once the guarantee is over. Even if it is just one key of plastic of a keyboard. So ask whether you can lengthen the guarantee time and how much will it cost you. If you travel ask whether it is internationally valid.

I don't think you can say one laptop is better than another. It depends on what you want to do with it and what kind of hardware it has. Saying that, I don't recommend a Fujitsu Siemens after my bad experience with one. There are a lot of laptops way better than dell, and I think instead of asking us, you should do your own research. Are there no stores near you where you can look at different laptops and get a feel for them? That way you know if you're going to find it easy to use and it's a lot better than only looking online.

Depends on what the specifications are of the laptops,

some acers will be better than some dells, and some dells will be better than acers. it all depends on the price range/specification your after
