You might google: Thanatopsis, William Cullen Bryant. It's a poem we'll read next year in school. Maybe you already read it.

Also we're reading about Sythians. They lived in Central Asia with the Huns, Mongols, Manchus, Urghars, and Turks.
You can learn something about Central Asians when you google pazyryk or pazyryk rug.
Archeologists found the Pazyryk Rug in a grave in what is now China. Most experts accept it as the oldest known rug. The Pazyryk weavers made the rug in the modern manner from wool. The rug has images of people on horseback and of moose. They must have used the horses to herd the woolly animals (sheep?). Maybe they ate moose meat. Probably they shipped the rugs along the Silk Road to China and Europe. To get a sense of how these people lived, one might watch The Horseman, a movie with Omar Sharif.
Could be an interesting source of material for poetry.

When she edits, she always removes words like am, is, are. Probably she knows why Bill Clinton had so much trouble with the meaning of is.
