Ha yeah thats what you use the rubbish cards for, roaches for weed.

wildfire is great and i like the Balduvian Barbarians becuase you can scream it when u play.

Are you interested in competing or just for fun? I used to be hardcore into Magic but it's too much of a drain on the wallet and most of my friends have stopped playing. Anyway go to magic's website they usually have decklist for all the decks dominating the current Metagame.

Prefer the green and white decks. very quick and effective, but if i was to pick a favorite it would be a graft deck. with mana gain and a experiment kraj or 2 . very cheap... but anyways its what i like

Try going to wizards.com and go to magic the gathering, they have rule books and stuff. Also ask a friend, if they know how to play, and ask if they can teach you how to, it is really fun

WOW!!!! i thought this game had died out... i remember being all hardcore about it then one day everyone just stopped playing.

now maybe i will have to dig out the boxes upon boxes upon boxes of cards collecting dust in my closet and start playing again

I played many years ago and even got my wife into it a bit. I play a red land destruction deck, with fast attack creatures. If I get a good turn of the cards I can shave about 5 points off in the first three rounds. With the land destruction element I can keep a player tied up while I ping him to death, with haste monsters that cost next to nothing. I would usually finish with a painful attack spell like Lava axe.

I just wouldnt play a dual colour deck too fiddly too much can go wrong. If and when it works the red land destruction is unbeatable against slower blue decks.

Honestly, I haven't played since Planeshift. But I still remember waiting for alpha to come out. I was playing Spellfire back then!

I haven't kept up with the times, but I still have complete sets of every expansion from Alpha to Planeshift. Hell, I remember when Black lotuses were like $.05 each. You couldn't give them away, because no one realized how good those extra mana producers were! When we first started building our own decks, we were so clueless about combos. Every deck was a weenie deck, and you just hoped to get more critters in play than your buddy. Good times.
