I would hope so, cause it's his job and that's how he feeds his kids.

Infact, the only real point i put that i felt i clearly won in all this is the one about Bono going on stage when one of his kids were starving to death and j'n came back with some flippant point...Bono wouldn't do that...because he really cares properly about his kids!!!

No you won nothing. If his kid was starving he would have to go on stage, that is his job and how he makes money.
He also does his job to help others, just because he is luky enough in life to do a job he enjoys doesnt mean he cares any less.

Wait a second: complaining about Bono's reasons for doing charity and all that? My god, he is doing it! No matter why he is doing what he does. Should it be our concern that he is doing it for a noble prize? We shouldn't! And we can be sure about that if he wants a noble prize, he's not doing it cause it is worth 1 million dollars. Since I guess he's got enough money by now

I think it is good that he is at least making a point in the whole poverty discussion. He brought it to life basically! Nobody really cared about it before. And now? Now it is cool for politicians to pose with Bono, cause he's a new version of "Mr. Charity". Might be dumb, on the other hand: what would you guys do yourself to fight against poverty? Any other suggestions? I don't think so!

Bono's great! I love him...

Well, the fact that you've put all that just seems to me that you're not prepared to deal with the reality of what's been said!!If you really want to talk about this thing...the idea that someone, Bono in this case cldn't really care about ppl starving in Africa when he's perfectly capable of enjoying himself while those ppl starve to death, then i suggest you stop being so preposterous! Then i'll be happy to deabate this thing with you!
p.s the ans. to you're and j'n irroneous point is in the post above...but you knew that ans. anyway, didn't you?

Your basic assumption is that it's impossible to care about people in trouble and ever do anything besides directly help them.

This is an incorrect assumption. I'm sorry.

It's obvious that everyone here agrees.

Well it seems that way to me...mainly for the point that got ans. flippantly...if, lets' say, Bono son was starving to death he wouldn't go on stage and sing because he would be too concerened, he'd care too much about his son to do so...now obviously Guggi Q isn't going to starve to death 'cause his dads...so let's say Guggi Q is lost in a desert and needs rescuing then...Bono wld. care about that so much that he couldn't go on stage and perform, something he's admitted to enjoyin, just in case someone gets flippant on that point!
So theres a difference between caring for loved ones and for strangers and it seems to me that that difference renders the idea of caring for strangers somewhat suspect, shall we say!
PS. I hope you all realise you don't have to get involved with this!I mean it is a free world!!

The funniest thing about this whole thread is that someone who does jack s**t for other people is calling out and criticizing someone who is famous for humanitarian efforts and charity.

It's really not funny, though. It's sad. Seriously, how ridiculous is it to say that someone who does more for charity in a day that you've done in your whole life doesn't "mean it" enough for you?

Get a grip, man.

There isn't a single question mark in your last two posts.

What question am I too scared to answer?

Pack mentality? Unsure of my "ground"? Cowardly?

And you call me abusive, but then call me a jerk?

Hm.

Well, it's alright for me to do it. I owed it you!
Anyway, the literalness of wanting a question is all well and good but you're obviously smart enough to run with it if you want, so i'd be interesting if you did...and the rest!!!

No, its not alright, it is still against the rules.
As for everything else you said, for a start there is no 'pack mentality' only a group of people that think you are wrong.
Your opinion is your own, and you have every right to say you think Bono doesn't care, just like we have every right to theories you say it just to make yourself feel better.

If you cant handle them simple facts, you cant handle debating.

I'm ignoring the rest of the post because it was a load of nonsense you put to make yourself look right, when in fact you were not.

As for the little gem above...

If what you say is true, if people who want to raise money for charity have the choice between doing something that they enjoy and something that they hate, that have to do the thing they hate otherwise they don't care and people like you who don't do anything cant have a go at them?

This is dumb.

Bono goes on stage to end world hunger because that is all he can do.
If going on stage was the only thing he could do to find his kid lost in the desert then damn right he would
