I know you were just trying to be funny but it adds to the myth that eve ate the apple and convinced adam to eat it. If you actually read the bible it says that eve ate the apple and gave it to adam "whom was with her" that means they were both listening to the serpent and they both made the same concious desicion to eat the apple.
There is no biblical reason women get their periods, it just says that she is unclean when she is menstruating, the rest is left to imagination. The punishment was that her pain in labor will be increased and so the period has nothing to do with that because women don't mestruate when they are pregnant.

I actually had to read part of Genesis in my ancient literature cla** and it said that because Eve ate from the tree from the tree of knowledge.

I believe its because Eve tempted Adam with the forbidden fruit, they both ate it, learned they were naked, and because of her we all got sentenced!!! lol
