You know what's dumb. There's like no requirements for supreme court judges. Like, the president could appoint kim jong-il or someone and if congress said ok, then he'd be a judge. Why isn't there some requirements? I mean, I'm sure there would never be a totaly ridiculous appointment, but there's still the possibility.

Because the President and majority of Congress must choose and approve Supreme Court justices.

The Constitution assumes that our elected representatives and head of state are sufficient judges of character and ability on their own.
