Line Dancing.
About six Years Ago I Decided To Take Up Line Dancing. Well In Those Day’s I Had A Red Spiky Punk Hairdo, But Being A Big Shania Twain Fan, It Was Time To Learn Country Dancing. I Saw An Add In The Local Paper.
(line Dancing All Are Welcome £2 An Evening) So Off I Went To The Local Village Hall, I Arrived In Some Cowboy Boots That I Had Bought From A Car Boot Sale, But No Cowboy Hat, I Did Not Want To Flatten My Hairdo.
I Arrived And Went Up To The Table To Pay My £2, There Was A Man Of About Sixty Five Sitting At The Table, He Looked At Me With A Big Grin On His Face,
( Hello Love, You Did See It Said Line Not Lap) He Said. Me With My 17 Year Attitude Just Said, Yes What Ever, Put My £2 On The Table And Walked Into The Main Hall ( Not In There Love. That’s For Dogs, That Is Ringcraft ) He Said, He Pointed To Upstairs. So Up I Went And Entered The Upstairs Room.
There Was About Half A Dozen Women And Two Elderly Gentlemen, No One Turned There Heads When I Entered, They Just Carried On Talking To Each Other, Probably Thinking To Them Self’s, What Has Just Walked In. Me Just Standing There With A Silly Hairdo, Bumblebee T-shirt, Black Mini Skirt, Bumblebee Tights And Face Jewellery, Not To Mention My Makeup, Less Said The Better. When Some One Came Into The Room Calling Out My Name, It Was My Mum, Every Person In The Room Just Tuned Around And Looked At Me And My Mum Introduced Me To Every One. She Said To Me That The Man Downstairs Had Said That A Very Wearied Girl Had Just Gone Upstairs And Was Going To Take Up Line Dancing. Well My Mother Had Told My Dad That She Was Going To Keep Fit Classes, There Was A Few More People Came In, Some Of Them Were In There Thirties, But Even They Seemed A Bit Surprised That A Punk Girl Was Wanting To Do Line Dancing.
I Felt A Little Bit Out Of Place, But With Support From My Mother, I Had A Go, I Never Told Any Of My Friends About Doing Line Dancing, But One Day In The Pub Someone Spelt The Beans, My Friends Started To Giggle, I Just Said, Yes What Ever, And Just Carried On Drinking As If Nothing Had Been Said. I Kept Up With The Line Dancing And Every One At The Cla** Got On With Me And It Was Great To Go Out With My Mum For A Good Night Out.
Ps- I May Still Wear Somewhat Unusual Clothes, But I Now Have Shoulder Length Hair And No Face Jewellery.
