I think if the government doesn't start taking this issue more seriously then it could collapse. But I think that they have the knowledge and ideas to repair it. They just need to apply themselves a little more. I think an easy first step would be to deport illegal immigrants, then cut-off all welfare and force those people to take the new available jobs. Take the money used for welfare and put it back in the hands of the tax payers, the middle/lower cla** ones that is, and hopefully they'll put that money back into the economy. Don't call me a racist, I respect LEGAL immigrants and people living in their countries. I just think it's a good first step to repairing our falling economy.

because of the price of gas, the economy will go into recessiona and if things do not change, we will go into another depression and the united states will fall apart

Wow what short memories people have...

Do you not remember the Clinton recession at the end of his term...
or Bush 1...
or Reagen
or Carter etc....

It's an election year without an incumbent there is always a small down turn in the economy...If I am wrong please show me an example...

And as for gas prices we can blame all the tree huggers for that...did they not think that other countries would not need oil and the price would go up.... No it is more important that some Caribou not have too walk around a tower

Are you nuts? Cheap here? No, no way in hell. Try Tennesse, Georgia, Kentucky.. Around those areas.

Limiting our ability to drill for oil in Alaska, the gulf, making it almost impossible for any new refineries to be built.......

One of my teachers said the same thing, that homes were cheaper than normal in FL at the moment.

That's because everyone has to drop their prices so that they can sell. But overall Florida's housing prices are a bit high IMO.

Those things would have very little impact on oil prices, especially long term.

The attitude that environmental conservation is silly drives me up the f**king wall. Every acre that we clearcut and develop is another acre that we will never have back. A planet devoid of natural places is a nightmarish vision, but we are getting there one little bit at a time.

I swear to god, some people would rather just pave over every square mile of land on earth.

Espicially you Americans... are you confident in your economy?

you're not from usa, why do you care? do you want our economy to get upside down, so we won't be one of the strongest countries of the world?
