44/M/Peachtree City, Georgia Join Date: May 2008 | I specifically searched the net to find a posting of this type. I understand the reason for racism, black against white. I am a black male with albinism, and I have married a white woman. My skin is white, but naturally my features are black. This has given me a different perspective on the whole black-white issue. There should not be any reason for racism, but it still exists in the deep recessed of our society. In White and Black neighborhoods because both sides keep it alive. Older whites feel blacks are sub human beings, uncontrollable, creatures always up to no good. Blacks feel whites have a superior attitude and are always out to get the black man. I am not a racist. In truth, that very statement, makes me a racist. No white person has ever called me a nigger. I have never called a white person a cracker, or honkey. I see people in two sects, ignorant, and non-ignorant. I grew up in Paterson New Jersey. It is a depressed town where as a black man I could have stayed all my life complaining about my circumstances. I moved beyond those as many have, but most will live and die there. I am a black man, but have walked the fense of racism because of my skin color. as a young adult, I straighted and dyed my hair to in fact pa** as a white person. That was not the intent at the onset, but it was the result. At 44, I see things very differently. It is easy to use hatred of another, to make one feel better about ones circumstances. That is racism.

First of all, not everyone is racist. Everyone may stereotype, but that does not make you racist. Racist is when you look at a group of people, determine a detrimental opinion, do not allow this opinion to change, and apply to every person of the selected race. Sometimes what people call "racist" has simply been what someone has been taught, they don't know any better, so it is actually ignorance. And there is a big difference there.
Second, no racism exists without hate. Especially that of whites to black. It is not simply a matter of whites seeing blacks as inferior, but more over as a threat. The threat being that whites who are racist don't like to change their value system to include people of color as humans, or at least not the level of human they believe they are. The racism that exists in the United States (between Black and white) is a direct product of our government allowing people of a certain race (Black) to be sold like livestock, so in essence this racism was indeed bred out of ignorance.
Thirdly, it is ignorant to hate based on something that has nothing to do with a person or group of people's actual personality.
Racism is nothing but ignorance or a form of hate descending from ignorance. It is for ignorant people. All ignorant people are inferior, at least in intelligence, to those who are knowledgeable. So to me this post, which is blatantly racist (after all, who actually cares who is more racist, and why does it matter?), is ignorant.
Who is more racist? Not blacks or whites, but the ignorant people. And they come in all colors, shapes, and denominations.
