First off, I must say that Blink 182, Sum 41, and Chemical Romance ARE NOT PUNK!

With that said, my fav punk bands are FEAR for their awesome lyrics and actual ability to hold a note, and D.R.I. for being thrash and punk as f**k.

Favorite underground (local to my area) bands are Verbal Abuse and One In The Chamber.

because they kept the lyrics real.anbout real issues all over the world

I'm guessing the blink 182 punk label is coming from them being pop-punk to edging on punk rock. The subgenres are the confusing thing for people today. Punk blends into punk rock and so on and so forth. I couldn't tell the difference between thrash, death or black metal so what makes the kids that can't tell punk apart any different?
