One theory I've heard is that because the media is owned by a very small number of corporate interests with an obvious interest in maintaining political status quo, corporate media has adopted the tactic of ignoring Paul. He is opposed to special favors by the government to special interest groups and this couldn't possibly sit well with the people who want their own special favors to continue. Sounds a bit like a conspiracy theory, but it's possible.
