unless your running a business and i mean needing the best there is - i would say the average user doesnt need the most expensive hdd on the market

the fact is most hdd will perform well and last yonks

the newer generation of hdd's comming onto the market soon - flash hdd - when they read 500 plus gbs would be worthwhile as no moving parts in them. like a flash drive on usb

If you wanna buy a hdd either western digital or seagate and even samsung are good hdd's - how much were they advertising for ?

They're generally not worth the price.

They are very fast, yes, but not enough faster to warrant the huge price difference. Most people don't spend enough time waiting on their hard disk to notice a 5-10% difference.
