The pendulum motion is noticeable, but as the video footage is a bit shaky in the majority of the films, it's hard to tell exactly how they move.
I'm no expert in the field of air displacement and bouyancy, but I'd have to say it would take more than one balloon to carry a flare to that altitude... helium may be lighter than air, but it's not light enough to carry a flare on one balloon that high.
All I can say is if any Arizonans near the valley find balloons with flare casings attached to them in their backyards... =P
I agree with you.....I saw the lights in 97, but didn't see yesterdays
and I don't think it was flares.....people were saying that "they" were making patterns like squares and rectangles...I don't think balloons can move all by themselves like that.
