Look at the true origins of punk...
Shows at houses, in backyards, warehouses, punk ran, and punk operated, advertised by paper flyer!
All these bands you're listing now have died in the eyes of punk, because they're on the radio, on tv, and out in the open. Thats why you think punk is dead.
But punk is not what you hear on the radio... its what you see scratched on a peice of paper and stapled to a telephone pole, not advertised all over everthing that is main stream.
Punks just hidden, not dead. And its always been this way.
You guys don't know what your talking about.
I can assume that most of you haven't even been to a real punk show. How sad.

You speak the truth! Except that bit about not ever being to a real punk, I have...can't speak for everyone but I there use to be some small venues around my area, they all died because the local culture hates us but we still get shows in garages every now and then, that are promoted by word of mouth.

Glad to hear you've been to a real punk show.
Sorry to hear that your scene has died though...
Happens a lot in areas like yours.
My advice to you is: fight the main stream and keep doing shows! Do as many shows as you can, because the only way to have a punk scene is to build a community and keep it going and growing.
If you ever want some advice on how to book/run shows, deal with cops, etc., let me know.
I live in an underground punk venue, and have been going to shows and helping out in some sort of punk/rock scene for most of my life, so I have some experience.
