I am trying to get my old Evesham PC up and running, I have been partially successful but every now and then it freezes.
I formatted and reloaded windows XP which improved it a little but still get freezes for instance it played 2 full films at one time and then crashed 20 minutes into a film at another time, there is nothing consistent about when it freezes.
So far I have gone on the overheating tack ie I put in a HD cooling fan, checked all the obvious heat related items and generally cleaned things up
I thought about changing the video card etc but these are all guesses and expensive, It seems a shame to give up on something that runs so well when it is working so nice but have reached the end of my PC knowledge and would appreciate any advice as to where to try next, below I have listed the basic,s of the PC.........
MB, ASUS A7A266
RAM 256mb DDR2 SDRAM
40GB HD
I added a BENQ DVD RW to the original LG DVD/CDROM
Thats about it, hope someone out there can make some suggestions
