For those of you that know me, last year, I was invited to shoot in a tournament of Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand. It was my first time ever to shoot clay pigeons. I was hooked!
Well, this past weekend me and my fellow workers that shoot skeet, were invited to shoot Sporting Clays. For those that don't know the term, it is shooting clay pigeons while standing in a metal framed safety box in real life type settings, from in the brush and trees and around ponds or breaks in the woods. The clay pigeon throwers are usually out of site, and the clays are thrown from behind you, in the brush to a clearing in front of you. At some of the stations you have only seconds to acquire the target and shoot it. You shoot from 10 different stands throughout the field. You are given 5 chances, to shoot 2 clays per chance for a total of 100 rounds.
And when you multiply that by 20+ guys, that are broken up into groups of 6 or greater, make for a very fun day.
Just curious to know if there are any others that have had the opportunity to try this out.
Just had to share, we plan on going again in a week or two. There are 3 other guys from my office that started shooting Skeet, Trap, 5-Stand and now Sporting Clays, together.
Then we topped it all off with Lunch at a Chinese Buffet.
If you have a question, just ask! Never assume.
