Not quite, but the devistating effects are looking to be over!! The article doesn't say that it can't be spread, but looks like the life span is increased along with the quality of life!! How awesome is that?

science daily

Quote:
ScienceDaily (Oct. 21, 2007) — With the latest advances in treatment, doctors have discovered that they can successfully neutralise the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The so-called ‘combination therapy’ prevents HIV from mutating and spreading, allowing patients to rebuild their immune system to the same levels as the rest of the population.

If as they say they can normalize their immune system then that's a breakthrough, though not a cure. They didn't say whether they would have to continue treatments.

They should try to use illegal drugs to cure AIDS like LSD or Shroomz or something...it would be amazing if it worked

I believe that it said that the treatment would be a life long thing.

Oh yeah, good point.

It'll probably be years before they even get it out to the public. Still any advance is good. One step at a time.

I'm certain it will be a life long event, and at some point thoughts about the liver will come into play.

The liver is your bodies filter and everything goes throught it. I just wonder at what point there is damage to it and/or kidneys.

There is a great debate, especially in the alternative therapies world about the whole HIV/AIDS hypothesis and there are many books and scientific papers on the subject (see www.credence.org).

If you’ll bear with me, I need to explain a bit of history on this subject. Back in the 60’s, Nixon declared war on cancer. It was thought at the time that cancer could be caused by recto-viruses, as recto-viruses cause cells to multiply (which is what cancer does). The US spent about 20 years and 20 billion dollars and could not find a single clinically significant recto-virus. The recto-virologists had studied themselves out of a job.

In the 80’s the French discovered a group of homosexuals that was suffering from an immune deficiency and also had traces of a recto-virus. The French sent samples to the American recto-virologists for examination. One of these recto-virologists, Dr Robert Galo subsequently announced that he had found the cause of AIDS. Later studies found that 99 to 100% of the French homosexuals suffering from immune deficiency where taking amole nitrates (poppers), which give men a more intense orgasm. This was very much part of the gay culture at that time (the 80’s).

Now here is a key part: poppers are also known for damaging the immune system.

Here is another key part: only about 40% of the French homosexuals had traces of the recto-virus.

Which do you think would be the most likely cause of the immune deficiency?

Galo was later found guilty of scientific fraud for trying to steal credit for the discovery from the French. However, a huge gravy train had been set in motion and there was much face to be lost.

In the 80’s AIDS was associated with gays and drug users. As mentioned before, the gay sub-culture at that used a lot of drugs too, and drugs damage the immune system.

The first drug used to treat HIV/AIDS was AZT. AZT was originally designed chemotherapy. What does chemotherapy do to your immune system? It totally wrecks it.

Add to this the fact that AZT had years earlier been shelved, for excessive toxicity (even for chemotherapy).

Now here is something else to consider. The HIV test does not actually test for HIV. It tests for antibodies. That is fine in each antibody is specific to one virus. However, an antibody can fight a whole range of viruses. That means that if you have had one of a whole range of viruses you get a positive result from a HIV test. I believe that the HIV tests actually come with a disclaimer that it is only an indication, yet it is used as conclusive proof in the many parts of the world.

Consider this, Thailand is known as one of the HIV centers of the world, yet they have very little full blown AIDS. Why? The prostitution spreads VD which will give a positive reading on the HIV tests; yet they are fortunate enough not to be able to afford drugs like AZT (which will damage the immune system).

Africa is also known as a HIV/AIDS stronghold. Well look at all the nasty diseases coming from that continent. Bearing in mind that AIDS is not supposed to kill you, it is supposed to lower your immune system until “opportunistic” pathogens can take over and they kill you. Why then do most AIDS suffers in the West suffer from symptoms of drug use (be it therapeutic or recreational) whilst most AIDS suffers in Africa suffer from malnutrition, starvation and parasitic infection. Bearing in mind the nature of Africa, many people will be suffering from malnutrition, starvation and parasitic infection whether they are HIV positive or not.

Sorry this is a bit long, but I feel it needs to be said. As mentioned above, this is not just me being weird, many top scientists have challenged the orthodox standpoint. When AIDS first become public in the 80’s it was predicted that we would all be dropping like flies by now. But I only know of one person in my personal life that is actually HIV positive and she is still fairly health almost 20 years after her diagnosis.

For books etc see www.credence.org (I have no affiliation with them).

I read in a chemistry textbook a couple of years ago about this carbon molecule called a buckyball that could cure or provide immunity from AIDS. Here's a good article: link [www.chem.wisc.edu]

When I first read this in a textbook, I went crazy. I showed everybody and couldn't stop talking about it for days. But nothing has become of it, I suppose, since I haven't heard of it. It does seem like there are so many preventative measures and alternative treatments that could do a lot for people, yet it seems like a tiny percentage of those infected actually get the help they need.

All diseases are created by the government in order to profit from selling the cures.
