What do folks here do to keep their immune system strong? There is a lot of different information out there. I think one thing is eating habits. One thing I discovered, is that too much sugar depresses the immune system. Now comes the hard part. If you really want to quit sugar, it's hard finding food that doesn't have it. I eat a lot of fresh veggies,no junk food, no pop(full of sugar, and other bad stuff) Cut back on starchy food especially bread. No white bread at all. I find, I don't get sick anymore. When I feel something coming on, I take fresh garlic, echinacea and grapeseed extract. Gone in a couple of days. used to be sick a lot.

absolutly nothing, well unless you count vacinations.

im rarely sick and ive never been to hospital.

IMO our natural immune systems are genrally fine at defending us against attacks.

IMO (and some other peoples) problems arise when people and parents constantly remove threats e.g infection, by excessive cleaning to an extent where our bodys don't get a chance to become immune to the infection.

Latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the world's population.

Personally I take Vemma, a liquid nutritional supplement. I also avoid sweets, trans-fats, excessive alcohol. Avoid processed food when you can. Drink alot of water. Basically you've got to think of your body as a high performance race car, and it won't run on low-grade fuel.

Also, walk at least 30 minutes a day. That La-Z-Boy chair is killing you.

Going back to the original comments about sugar, a good alternative is stevia. It is available in supermarkets in the US, though it is banned here in the UK
Anybody with cancer, should not take sugar as it feeds the tumour.

suagr can be bad for your body on many levels. best to stay away from it where possible, but it is in a lot of things, always read the ingredients, they sneak it even into the most unlikely foods.

Consider taking a multivitamin. That will make sure your body gets all the nutrients that you are laking from your diet. That will help keep your immune system strong

sounds like you're doing all the right things.

just have to say though, that some sugar is necessary, so cutting it right out is not a wise move. the way to about it is to avoid processed food that have sugar added to them, but it's ok to eat foods that contain sugar in their natural form, such as fruit (that contains fructose), milk (that contains lactose) which it sounds is what you're doing anyway, but just thought I'd mention it for anyone who may read the bit about sugar in your original post.
