I loved WA and I lvoe northern NSW.

.. for a holiday.

But way too relaxed and slow. If that's what you like, good for you.

But I want to be able to go down to the local ticketek whenever I feel like and be able to choose from a huge range of events to choose from THAT weekend.

And Melbourne simply has the best to offer in my opinion.

well if thats what you like then thats what you like.

Poeple don't move to places just because of the beaches...thats stupid!
People move to warmer climates because they like what those states offer, ie: the relaxed atmosphere, the no rushing around to be some place, the easy-going attitude of the residents, the weather, job opportunities etc.

I thought we were debating about Melbourne's living standards, not the convienence of being able to go to tickettek?

Pleeeasse! To all you ignorant interstaters, Melbourne weather is comparable to Sydney's, I should know, I lived in Sydney for 22 years and have been living in Victoria now for 2.5 years and frankly I don't see much difference in the weather.

But I do see that Victoria is a beautiful place, much more so than NSW, and Melbourne has it all over Sydney in everyway except maybe the roads and traffic infrastructure in the CBD, but that doesn't worry me because everything else comes up trumps.

So if you're going to bag Melbourne, at least have the decency to get your facts straight and maybe actually visit the place before you go judging it.
