27/F/Papillion, Nebraska Join Date: Sep 2006 | nteresting that I posted in a forum about my home state and find no one else from there. Just goes to show that Nebraska is overall a small state in the middle of the U.S...and that most people prefer to get OUT of the state than to come here. Yeah it's great for indoor football, we're the home of Omaha Steaks, Nebraska Beef, Ameritrade and some other stuff...but nothing too big. Although I will say even though Republicans regrettably run this state (hope that doesn't offend anyone) that in terms of commerce and night life we don't do too bad. Not sure what else to say. A lot of well-known people were born in Nebraska, like for example Johnny Carson, Larry the Cable Guy, Marg Helgengerg (CSI: LV), Henry Fonda, Alexander Payne, Nick Nolte, Jimmy Buffet (millionaire, philanthropist, owner of Dairy Queen), and even former president Gerald Ford. And many others. Anyone else know of any famous people who were born where they live? Or any historical events that made where you live famous?
