12 PLANETS and more to come

Well Pluto is still considered a planet. Now there is a total of 12 planets all together. They have came up with a definition now for the word planet. It use to be that scientist didn't know what the real definition was for planet well here is the difinition :

"A planet is a celestial body that (a) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and (b) is in orbit around a star, and is neither a star nor a satellite of a planet."

They are even considering that there is going going to be an extra 23 planets added soon. There also will be a meeting to see if our earths moon will be called a planet since Plutos moon was called a planet. In the years to come as scientist discover more there can be hundreds to thousands of more planets added.

We thought we had it easy when we were kids with only 9 planets. Just think how textbooks are going to change. So right now every science book that talks about planets is wrong. So what are your thoughts

That's what I'm wondering too. Wow.... I didn't even know that we made it to 12. Really, the last thing I heard was that they changed the pronuciation of Uranis.

theres a asteroid of large circular mass in the asteroid belt named xena i believe or something begining with C, which now replaces jupiter as the 5th planet in the solar system, religating jupiter to 6
