A new phone app

What if there was a phone application where you could turn it on (after entering your interests) when you go out "cruising" for a "good time" and it would send you a text message or an alert when someone was near that fit all your criteria that you'd be able to respond to if YOU were interested. Would you use it? You could ignore them without them knowing you even have the app.

That's a terrible, terrible idea, JR. Would you like to be advertised like some product, fit for someone's "requirements?"

But then again, maybe that already happens (seeing as how we're only usually interested in people that fit our requirements, much like the products we buy).

But not everyone does that. There are some couples with partners that have many differences but yet they still love each other so perhaps it's not so commercial-like.

But still, JR, that is an uncomfortable and very blunt proposition.

And it also ruins the chase.

There was a TV show I watched(can't recall the name of it now for the life of me) where one of the characters was signed up to a dating site and using an app like that.

There is one for gay people, I can only assume there is probably one for straight people out there as well.

Yeah, I would imagine this exists already for the iphone.

The idea weirds me out a bit. I think people would treat others like meat to be bought and consumed rather than like valued individuals. But, then that happens some now, I just think this would make it work.
