What do you think of what we in the developed world call "alternative medicine/therapy.?"

I visit a fantastic Chinese lady who is a qualified General Practicioner but only uses her countries ancient remedies in her practice here.

My daughter had very serious life threatening condition and when our medical services failed miserably with her it was alternative medicine that saved her life.

what condition did she have, and what was used to cure her (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm interested in alternative medicine.

not sure if it would be called alternative 'medicine' but i am a spiritual healer and believe me it really does work and really does help alot! i can pick up exactly where ppl are hurting just from placing my hands on their shoulders and the healing energy goes where it is needed

i'm a disbeliever i'm afraid although if "real" medicine failed me then i'd happily give it a go apart from faith healing, i'm afraid i don't have the required faith

thats ok mate we all have our own paths to follow and being a disbeliever is no problem to me belief is not required when it comes to healing only an open mind all we ask is that u think "it might work"

My daughter had hepititus and glandular fever. This led onto M.E.

She had to make some serious changes to her diet and take homiopathic medicines including Echinacea (probably spelt very wrong) that helped rebuild her immune system.

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or ME)

What is ME?
What causes it?
What are the symptoms?
Should I seek medical help?
Can I help myself?
Coping with ME
What is ME?

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, commonly referred to as ME, is a very debilitating condition which affects less than one per cent of the population in this country. Although rare, it can dramatically alter the quality of life among a minority of patients to the point where they are totally unable to participate in any aspect of family or social life.

Since the cause of ME is unknown, there is no specific treatment available for sufferers. Some years ago, this condition earned the title of "yuppie flu" because of its prevalence among young urban professionals

I'm all for anything that will work. On Sept 20 of this year I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. No cure. Cannot be operated on .. prognosis, six months to two years to live. While I am on chemotherapy and pain meds out the yazoo, I am well aware of my mortality. I am going to try bio feedback, and of course making sure I get all the right nutrients, vitamins, etc. I don't know about faith healing and such, but have always been interested in herbs and the wholistic approach to medicine. What works for one does no always work for another and vice versa. I'm so happy you got your daughter well. Success stories are GREAT!!!
